Frequently Asked Question

Do I need to take a GED® class or receive instruction from a local prep center before I can take the exam?

Yes. In Pakistan you are required to be approved by an Authorized GED Prep Provider before you are approved to sit for the GED exam.

You can find information about an approved prep partner during the GED.com account set-up process.

If you are 18 years or older you may sit for the test with no restriction, If you are 16 years old, you will not be able to book a test until you have completed an Age Waiver. To complete the age waiver, login to your ged.com account and click on the Age Alert red banner. It will take you to the Age Waiver. Follow the completion and submission instructions within your Age Alert.

Pakistani students who have completed their SSC (Secondary School Certificate) or hold an equivalence certificate (for foreign qualifications) and wish to pursue an undergraduate degree in Pakistan must observe a minimum gap of two years after obtaining their SSC before taking the GED test, which is considered equivalent to the HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) in the Humanities Group. Upon completion, they will be eligible for an HSSC (Humanities Group) Equivalence Certificate. For further details and policy guidelines, please contact IBCC.

The two-year gap requirement does not apply to this category. However, after completing the GED, students will not be eligible for an HSSC Equivalence Certificate for their GED qualification.

Upon arrival at the test center, you are required to present one or more valid forms of identification. The identification to verify your identity must include your:
